Its the 25th October myself and the group decided to hold a couple of practise runs in preparation for the Toucan Music Exchange, recording several original songs with the wonderful Yasmine Davies.

This was so we could prepare ourselves with some of the skillsets needed to accomplish such a feat. Luckily today the set up was pretty simple due to the fact all that was involved was an acoustic guitar and vocals.
So the equipment consisted of two microphones which included Shure SM7B vocal microphone, AKG C451B acoustic guitar microphone, DI box for the guitar, three sets of XLR cables and one Jack cable. All of this was run through portable Allan Heath audio interface rig and straight into Logic Pro X DAW software. Which I could monitor the incoming audio signals for the duration of the recording.
Afterwards some of us sat in on a meeting with the film department and listened while they pitched their ideas on how the show would be filmed. They presented examples of work taken from their own practise runs. Their organisation as a group was impressive and certain members of both groups liaised with each other and a Facebook group was created so we could collaborate with each other and this joint project. If there something I could take from this experience it would be combination of two things the importance of setting up the gear to suit the artist and good communication skills with the client ie the artist. Overall a complete successful day.
